Mondovo email guide

Notifications work now. Set up campaigns when you need them.

You do not need an email-provider account to receive lead alerts. When you want to send a newsletter or promotion, connect your own sending account once, then manage campaigns in Mondovo.

What is included

Website notifications — no campaign setup needed

Lead alerts, booking confirmations and other configured system messages use Mondovo's managed email service unless you have chosen your own notification provider. Your plan's notification allowance applies; check Email notification settings for current usage.

Connecting, changing or disconnecting a campaign sender does not change your notification settings.

Subscriber campaigns — connect your own Resend account

Write drafts and choose contacts before setup. Sending requires a connected Resend account and a verified sender. Mondovo manages the campaign; Resend delivers the email using your account.

Your Mondovo plan's campaign sending limit and Resend's own limits both apply. Resend charges, if any, are separate from your Mondovo subscription. Check current Resend plans.

Campaigns use their own connection so a disconnected or restricted campaign account never switches sending to Mondovo's notification account.

Set up your first subscriber campaign

Open the client's site in Mondovo, then Leads → Inbox → Campaigns → Campaign sender. You can also choose Set up campaign email in the site's Email notification settings. A site administrator can connect the account.

  1. 1. Open or reuse a Resend account

Create a Resend account or sign in to the account this business already uses. Check that you have selected the correct client's workspace before creating a key. You do not need to buy a new account for each campaign.

  2. 2. Verify a sending domain in Resend

Open Resend → Domains. Add a domain you control. A sending subdomain such as news.yourbusiness.com helps organise campaign mail separately from normal business email.

Copy the DNS records Resend shows into the service that manages your domain, such as your registrar or Cloudflare. Follow the exact record names and values, then wait until Resend reports the domain as verified for sending. Domain setup instructions.

Keep the records that deliver your existing business inbox intact. If Resend supplies a record for a sending subdomain, add it at that exact hostname; do not replace your main domain's incoming-mail records.

  3. 3. Create a key for Mondovo

Open Resend → API Keys, create a key named “Mondovo campaigns”, and choose Full access. Mondovo needs to check the domain and configure delivery feedback as well as send messages.

Copy the key into the private API-key field in Campaign sender. Treat it like a password: do not paste it into chat, email, screenshots or a support ticket. Mondovo stores it encrypted and does not show it again after saving.

  4. 4. Connect your sender in Mondovo

Enter a From address on the domain you verified, for example hello@news.yourbusiness.com, and a recognisable business name. Use a reply-to address that someone monitors, such as hello@yourbusiness.com. Verifying a sending domain does not create an inbox.

Choose Connect Resend. Mondovo checks your account and sender and sets up delivery feedback automatically. This connection applies to the current site; it does not replace your notification provider.

  5. 5. Send yourself a test, then review your campaign

Choose Send test email. The test goes to the email address you use to sign in to Mondovo. Check your inbox and spam folder, sender name and reply-to address. A successful send means the provider accepted it; it does not guarantee inbox placement.

Return to the campaign, review its content and recipients, confirm your list has permission, then send. Unsubscribe links are included automatically. Accounts must remain connected while queued messages are being delivered.

For agencies managing several clients

Set up the client who will send the email

We recommend a separate Resend workspace for each client who sends campaigns. The agency can manage several workspaces under one login; each workspace has its own keys, usage and billing. How Resend workspaces work.

For example, connect the dentist's workspace to the dentist's site, and the restaurant's workspace to the restaurant's site. Use each client's domain, name and reply inbox. Clients who only need lead notifications do not need this setup.

You can use one provider workspace for several sites, but those sites then share that account's limits and account-level risk. A separate domain or API key in the same workspace does not create a separate account.

Already verified a domain through Mondovo?

That domain was verified for Mondovo's managed sender. It does not connect a client-owned Resend account. Your drafts and delivery history remain available, but campaign sending now requires the separate connection above.

Prefer a new campaign sending subdomain if the old domain still delivers notifications. If Resend says a domain belongs to another account, ask your administrator to coordinate the transfer. Do not remove working notification domains or DNS records just to complete campaign setup.

Found relevant prospect email addresses?

Found contacts are not newsletter subscribers

Resend prohibits unsolicited email, including cold outreach and purchased or scraped lists, even when you use your own account. Importing an address or receiving an enquiry does not establish newsletter permission. Resend's sending policy.

The separate Agency outreach guide explains adding sending mailboxes for prospect outreach, subject to your mailbox provider's rules. That flow does not use this Resend campaign connection.

If you use a specialist outreach service, you can export prospects and manage sending there. Mondovo does not currently include a native Smartlead or Instantly connection.

What about warming up?

Start with a small, engaged subscriber audience and increase gradually as delivery remains healthy. Slow down when bounces or complaints rise. A newly verified domain is not automatically ready for a large mailing.

Automated mailbox-warming services exchange messages and simulated engagement between participating mailboxes. They are different from gradually increasing real sending, are not included here, and cannot guarantee delivery. Read Resend's warm-up guidance.

If setup or sending needs attention

The API key or domain is rejected

Check the selected Resend workspace, use a Full access key, and make sure the From address matches the verified sending domain. A key with Sending access alone cannot complete automatic setup. If you revoke a key, connect a replacement in Campaign sender.

DNS verification is still pending

Check record names and values against Resend. Some DNS services append your domain automatically, so avoid entering it twice. Allow time for changes to propagate, then check again in Resend. For first-time setup, choose Connect Resend in Mondovo after verification passes. For an existing connection, choose Check connection.

A campaign stops after a connection changes

Open Campaign sender and check the connection, then review the campaign report before taking another action. Already-sent messages cannot be recalled. Do not duplicate a partly sent campaign without excluding people who already received it. Mondovo never uses the notification account to finish a campaign.

The provider accepted the email but it is missing

Check spam and the provider's delivery logs. Confirm the recipient address and inspect bounces or complaints. An unsubscribe or suppression can reduce the sendable audience. Check the campaign report before retrying.

I only want lead alerts

You can leave campaign setup unfinished. Check Email notification settings for enabled recipients and your remaining notification allowance. No Resend campaign account is required.
